October

I think October is my favorite month. I love the changing of the leaves, the cool, crisp nights, pumpkins, hot chocolate, candy corn, Halloween. It's a sort of gateway into the Holiday Season; with Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner. But, unlike those other two holidays, Halloween and October carries little baggage of expectations. It's just a time to relax, reflect and take it easy.

Bishop Eddie Long

The breaking story about Bishop Eddie Long brings to my mind about the hypocrisy and oppression I personally experienced in the Church as a teen. My experience had nothing to do with alleged sexual misconduct but it did have to do with what I believe to be unchecked power. We have seen it time and again in all areas of... society. The old saying is true: power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
